My Little Pony

Updated: Mar 4, 2019

November 2018

I had so much fun designing this very colorful Rainbow party back in November. I thought I'd share a little more details here.

Details to look for

  • Rainbow plates

  • Balloon garland

  • DIY fringe selfie backdrop

  • Cloud fluff

  • Name banner

  • Pony balloon

  • Scrumptious treats

  • Cute cake

DESSERT TABLE

This was so fun, when mom Chelsi, sent me over some inspiration. I knew exactly what I was going to do. I've had this backdrop for some time & bad been dying to use it.

I paired the bright backdrop with a white linen on the table for balance. And kept all the items on the table white as well. Because I knew the treats would be colorful. Which gave them the perfect opportunity to pop against the white.

And of course I had to use cloud fluff as one extra added detail. Rainbows & clouds seemed pretty accurate. For the fluff I used cotton batting that I happen to have had on hand. But can be purchased at any arts & craft store.

The My little Pony Balloon was purchased at Party City.

The banner was made by Glam Banners, who has some pretty cute designs.

Mom did a great job choosing the cake & treats because they matched perfectly. & I love a g drip cake! The subtlety of this cake was beautiful especially that rainbow on top. The cake & treats were made by Scrumptious Cakes by Kary

These chocolate covered oreos were perfect. I loved the sprinkled look. Reminded me of those classic pink frosted animal cookies.

Keeping with the theme of rainbow. How cute are these cupcakes? Perfect right?

SELFIE BACKDROP

Using this plastic fringe backdrop, as a photo op was perfect for this rainbow My little Pony party. It's all the trend right now. & definitely was fun to make. I set it up outside in front of the kids table. & made it especially for the kids (it was kid size)

THE KIDS TABLE

I knew I wanted to play off of the dessert table rainbows. Which brought me to these perfect plates & cups from Oh Happy Day.

They were my favorite part of the table design. Gold plastic Untensils were from Target. I knew I wanted to use could napkins, because whats a rainbow without clouds. But the ones I found didn't work. So I made these myself. Drew on the shape, cut it out, gold trimmed the edges with a non toxic gold marker. All from a plain white napkin. They turned out perfect.

I found these perfect tiny My little Pony figurines that were placed at each place setting. It gave it just the right amount of character without being to kitschy.

For the balloon garland, I played off of the colors of the plates. Started with a white base & added the pop of color. & added some cloud fluff as well. This is an easy DIY, I purchased the balloons from Party City

If you made it this far, hope you enjoyed your fun inspiration.
